What are AI Overviews
AI Overviews is the AI-generated answer box Google shows above regular search results for many queries, including searches on a person's or business's name.
Google's own developer documentation confirms a page must already be "indexed and eligible to be shown in Google Search with a snippet" to be cited as a supporting link — there's no separate ranking system or special optimization for appearing in an AI Overview specifically. In other words, it draws from the same pool of indexed pages as ordinary search results, not some independent AI knowledge base.

Neither of Google's official feedback channels publishes a response-time commitment or a confirmation that a report was acted on, which makes this genuinely harder to track than a normal search-ranking change.
