TruthFinder markets itself less as a bare people-search directory and more as a background-check and safety tool — dark-web scans, criminal record lookups, and "who's texting me" style searches aimed at dating safety and vetting people before you meet them. Enter your full legal name, date of birth, and address, then find and select your matching record or records.

Confirm your identity with a code sent to your email or phone, then set the record's "Desired Behavior" to "Suppressed."
Because this is the same portal Intelius uses, a successful suppression here is designed to clear your record across TruthFinder and its PeopleConnect sister sites at once — you shouldn't need to repeat the process separately on Instant Checkmate or US Search.
Why canceling a membership isn't enough
Canceling a paid TruthFinder membership only stops future charges — it does not remove your record. The listing and the subscription are handled separately, so your information stays in the database and searchable by anyone until you actually complete the suppression request above.
This isn't just a minor gap in TruthFinder's customer experience — the site's own "Remove" and "Flag as Inaccurate" buttons have a documented history of not doing what they imply: flagged data isn't reliably investigated, and a "removed" listing can stay visible to everyone else searching that name.

Can I use a TruthFinder report to screen a job applicant or tenant?
No — TruthFinder's own page states that employers "cannot use TF for pre-employment background checks, promotion, demotion, or termination of an employee," and landlords can't use it to decide on leasing, renting, or retaining residential or commercial space, because TruthFinder says it is not a Consumer Reporting Agency under the FCRA. Using a report that way would violate TruthFinder's own stated terms.
Does TruthFinder have its own removal page?
